It is challenging for pedestrians to navigate Evergreen since many daily needs are sometimes difficult to carry out without having to resort to a car. It is a rather short walk to reach daycares and primary schools from anywhere in Evergreen. However, this part of Calgary does not contain any high schools. Regarding eating, getting to the nearest grocery store by walking is feasible for some, but not all, home buyers in Evergreen. Residents benefit from a few restaurants and cafes.

The character of Evergreen is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. This part of the city is very quiet overall, as the streets are generally very tranquil.
