A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are reasonably well-suited for walking; most daily needs are easy to meet on foot, and plenty of businesses are reasonably close by. Although there are a fair number of bike lanes, this part of Burnaby is not especially conducive to cycling since there is a significant amount of slopes. With a few nearby bus lines, commuting by public transit is easy in Garden Village. Driving is also a reasonably good transportation option in this area. Many real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the closest highway.

Garden Village is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. Green spaces are very well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore, making them very easy to reach. The noise levels in this part of Burnaby are also low, as the streets are tranquil.
