About Living in Delta, British Columbia
Transportation
The best approach to move around in this part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area is very often a car. It is very convenient to come across a place to park, and most homes for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 99. On the other hand, Delta is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, there are around 20 bus lines, and it is straightforward to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. This part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area is not very appropriate for bicycling as riding is made strenuous by the typically sloping topography, and there are few bike lanes. It is also inconvenient for people travelling on foot to get around in this municipality since most daily needs are difficult to carry out by walking.
Services
High schools and primary schools are not very numerous in Delta, and therefore may require a long walk to get to. Delta has some of the province's top schools, such as Southpointe Academy. Moreover, daycares are not very numerous and consequently tend to require a rather long walk to get to. When it comes to eating, a portion of house buyers in Delta may be able to access one of about 30 grocery stores on foot, while others will have to use another means of transportation. A limited selection of restaurants and cafes is available as well.
Character
Delta offers a slower-paced environment and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are over 250 parks close by for residents to discover, which makes it easy to get to them. This municipality is quiet overall, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several louder sections, especially near one of the railway lines, Highway 91, Highway 99 or the airport (ZBB).
