In contrast, travelling by public transit is at times challenging in this area. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and it is very easy to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. Alpine is not particularly bike-friendly since the topography is not especially flat, and the bicycling network is somewhat poor. There are also relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this area, despite the fact that many daily needs can be carried out without having to resort to a car.

Character

A highlight of Alpine is its extensive selection of green spaces. There are a few parks close by for residents to discover, including Laurentian Trail and Peter Hallman Ballyard and Sportsplex, and they are very well-situated, resulting in them being very easy to reach from the majority of locations in this part of Kitchener. Lastly, due to the presence of few pedestrians, this neighbourhood is relatively quiet, although there can be more noise for those who are closer to Highway 7 or one of the railway lines.
